That’s right, I said it. GRADUATION!
I wanted to make a post to document this joyous occasion! I can happily say that after six years of marriage (all of which my husband’s been in school), with the last three in graduate school (while working full time), we are DONE with school in the Durham household! For a while, at least;)
It’s been very challenging to juggle all that’s been on our plate at times, and the hubs divided his time so many ways without so much as a complaint. I really admire him and am so proud of ALL that he has accomplished.
He has received his Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and is planning to start seeing clients as early as next month. As I’ve alluded before, we’re believers in good counseling. We’ve had rich and lasting changes from going through it, both individually and as a couple. So, if you know someone looking for a therapist, keep Jonathan Durham, MMFT in mind 🙂 (shameless plug) He is truly insightful and caring, though, and able to listen without judgement. I know he’ll be a fantastic counselor.
Anyway, with the help of some amazing family and all the wonderful friends who kept the secret, we threw a heck of a surprise party for him!
I was overwhelmed at the amount of friends and family who came out to bless us! We had around 50 people in all. We transformed our carport into a party space, and I was incredibly thankful that it didn’t rain on us (though it was forecasted to). In the end, the humidity was my only real complaint, which is to be expected for an outdoor party in Tennessee’s August.
